- Confucious say ... the journey to Thailand start from any airport. Any damn airport in the world.
- Super choice...the airport is in Bangkok...Take a bus to Bon Pe, and take a ferry to Koh Samet. You can find a hotel for about 25$ per day there and they're so nice. The motel-6 type ones are abot 6$ per day...besides the plane ticket, it's the cheapest place you'll ever go to
- Thailand is a large country. What would you like to do there (beach, mountains, city, party)? I'd be happy to help with more specifics. Oh, but wherever you go, it's easy to fly into Bangkok International Airport and then take domestic flights to other destinations.
- Depends what your looking for. If you want an out of the way island then choose one near Cambodia there are a few off Thailand over that way and they are beautiful. Fly into Bangkok and take a connection to patayya or another local city, then take a bus/boat to the island. If your looking for young to mid aged people drunk and drugged out of there minds then try the party islands of ko phan ngan or Ko tao. If you lookng for pricey resorts then try Phuket island, Ko Pi Pi, ko Samui. I think for most of the latter ones it would be easier fly into Bangkok and take a connection to Phuket then bus/boat to the islands. My suggestion is the islands off the coast of Thailand near cambodia. There wont b resorts but it will be queit and beautiful. Talk to a travel agnt about it. You dont have to buy anything from them. Before my trip I went to a travel agent and he ended up telling me just to buy the pane ticket from him and find a cheap hotel well I get there and gave me some suggestions of where to go based on what I told him I wanted to do. he knew he wasnt going to make much out of a young male looking for a cheap open ended holiday.
- Thailand has 4 airports serving international arrivals. Phuket and Hatyai in the south, capital Bangkok and Chiangmai in the north. So get any airlines to go to your desired destinations. If not, flying to Bangkok will get you connections to the other domestic airports too. As for hotel, check out www.asiarooms.com for deals and net-booking. They offer discount not available through walk-ins. The hotels listed are generally good and clean, so go ahead and get your holiday planned.
- Bangkok International Airport also called DON MUANG AIRPORT. U can get plenty of hotels, recognised ones from Hilton,Sheraton to Asia hotel, Princess bayioke etc
- Man, your best option...truly. Is to get a package holiday to Phuket, thailand. There is an airport there and plenty of hotels on and off beach. From here you can go elephant trekking, rafting, island hopping (eg Phi Phi island, this is the one they used filming "the beach" with Leo Decrapio) or one of many other cool things. This whole side of Thailand is now fixed and there is little to no sign of the Tsunami at all. This would be the best option for honeymoon, I know if I was honeymooning I wouldn't wanting to carrying luggage on to trains and buses. You can do almost anything from Phuket. Check it on the Net
- Fly in to Bangkok (most flights in and out), flight from there around the country are about $100. The best hotel, where the movie stars stay while in town, is the Oriental. It's located on the river. Truly a 5 star, it has won top honors world wide many time. From there the choices are many!
